The Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities is a professional business school offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs along with non-degree executive education programs. Short-Term Program Objectives:
To utilize core concepts learned from classroom in exploring the practical applications of global strategies as well as business opportunities and challenges
To meet with faculty advisors on doctoral thesis development and research plan, and to engage in dialogue with fellow students.
Scope of Work/Project Summary
The Carlson Global Institute is interested in hiring temporary staff as an Event Program Manager who will support executive-level event planning and execution from June 3 to September 13, 2024 (15 weeks). The expected work time is three days a week in our office on campus, and the work hour is 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Between Monday 8/19 - Saturday 8/31 there would be work Monday - Friday and potentially over the weekend (8/24-8/25), if the schedule of the candidate permits.

The daily work will include, but not limited to, the following:
Event planning and execution including travel coordination (hotel, bus, flight, meals, etc.)
Responds to emails and other digital queries and correspondence.
Inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets
Drafts and edits letters, reports, and other documents
Works closely with other staff and supports other colleagues as needed.
Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security
The hourly rate for this position is $25 per hour.

Qualifications



The qualified candidate will process relevant expertise including, but not limited to, the following:
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workplace
Executive-level event planning and execution experience
Maintain confidentiality for clients
Possible after-hours work during the key program dates (1-week)
Excellent writing and communication skills in English
Chinese (Mandarin) language proficiency is a plus
