General Information & Responsibilities

Full-time, teaching role dedicated to the placement of students in fieldwork rotations. 

Description of Duties

a. The AFWC will support students, recruit and support fieldwork sites, assess fieldwork outcomes, administration of fieldwork systems, and contribute to the success of the OTA program. 
b. The AFWC will teach courses, using instructional design for course design to teach in a variety of delivery formats. 
c. Collaboration with the Program Director and Dean of Health and Human Services to ensure compliance with ACOTE Standards, community outreach, continuous assessment and outcome improvements. 
d. Participation in college activities, including student advising, supporting the program’s strategic plan, and meeting Black Hawk College’s mission.

Education & Experience


Required:

a. Be an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant who is currently licensed or otherwise regulated according to regulations in the State of Illinois and certified through NBCOT.

b. Hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency. The degree is not limited to occupational therapy.

c. Be responsible for the program’s compliance with the fieldwork requirements

d. Have 2 years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy which must include:

1. Clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist or as an occupational therapy assistant

2. Professional practice experience as a clinical fieldwork educator or documentation of training in the roles and responsibilities of a fieldwork educator.

Preferred:

a. Documented experience with adult physical dysfunction populations

b. Documented experience in mental health settings

c. Experience teaching in higher education

Minimum starting salary for full-time faculty is $49,419 for the 2023 - 2024 academic year and $49,727 for the 2024-2025 academic year. . Black Hawk College provides an exceptional benefits package.
