Data Analyst/ Database Manager
Research Professional 3 - School of Nursing

The School of Nursing seeks an outstanding data professional to fill a 75% time (30 hours/week).

Data Analyst/Database Manager position within the Office of Nursing Research and Scholarship's (ONRS) Statistics Team.

Primary Responsibilities:
The Data Analyst/Database Manager will partner with the ONRS Statistics Team to:
Provide statistical support for research projects and analyze clinical and health-related
data (50%)
Provide data quality control, data maintenance support and perform data-related tasks for
research projects and end users (35%)
Plan, design, implement, utilize, and manage various databases (15%)

Qualifications



All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in applied statistics, computer science or closely related discipline plus at
least 4 years of experience with emphasis on the statistical analysis of clinical and health-
related data and data management; or, an advanced degree in applied statistics, computer
science or a closely related discipline plus 2 years of experience; or a relevant
combination of related education and work experience to equal eight years.
Strong background in statistical methods and research design.
Professional work experience analyzing clinical and health-related data (particularly
randomized controlled trials and other intervention studies).
Professional work experience designing, implementing and utilizing (storage, retrieval
and queries) and managing small-to-mid-size clinical and health-related data and
databases.
Professional work experience with data quality control and data cleaning addressing key-
entry errors, formats, outliers, logical inconsistencies, duplicates, completeness, and other
issues.
Expertise in and a minimum of 4 years' experience using several statistical software
packages (such as SAS and R).
Expertise in REDCap.
Preferred Qualifications:
MA/MS degree in applied statistics.
Experience consulting on study design, analytic plans and statistical analyses.
Experience collaborating on research grants.
Experience with electronic health record platforms (EHRs).
