Job Description

An engineering client in the KC Metro Area is seeking to add multiple structural engineers as they grow their new office. The Electrical Engineers will work on power and industrial projects including design of power general systems, gronding systems, and lighting. The incumbent will create one-line diagrams, wiring drawings, panel layout drawings, motor schematics, instrument loop sheets, conduit and tray routing drawings, cable schedules, hazardous area classification drawings, electrical power studies (ETAP or SKM), arc flash reports, grounding drawings, lighting drawings, electrical underground drawings and contractor scope document.

- Design power system facilities, coordinate construction, operation, & maintenance of electric power generating/distribution equipment.

- Develop conceptual layouts and sketches to drive the most efficient design on a project-by-project basis

- Participate in the planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating detailed phases of electrical engineering projects

- Develop electrical equipment specifications

- Develop construction specifications and contractor scope of work documents

- Direct preparation of drawings and selection of equipment/materials to be used.

- Inspect completed installations for conformance with design, equipment specifications and safety standards

- Work products will include: one-line diagrams, wiring drawings, panel layout drawings, motor schematics, instrument loop sheets, conduit and tray routing drawings, cable schedules, hazardous area classification drawings, electrical power studies (ETAP or SKM), arc flash reports, grounding drawings, lighting drawings, electrical underground drawings and contractor scope documents

- Work with systems and equipment grounding requirements (high resistance, building and isolated grounding)

- Provide on-site start up support

- Reviews application of standards for correct interpretations (including NEC)

Required Skills & Experience

- BS, Electrical Engineering

- 2-10+ years of experience w/ design/installation of medium and low-voltage distribution equipment (process plants, industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, food and beverage, etc.)

- Power generation, power plant, heavy industrial, or manufacturing facility project experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- PE license or EIT HIGHLY preferred

- Strong experience with light industrial

- Power generation selecting generators, relay protection, reading specs, and make sure what generators/turbine they buy meet EPC requirements
