Your day-to-day
- Together with Director of Engineering, to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to coordinate project activities.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel equipment, systems, and infrastructure to ensure seamless operation.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs for rooms, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other critical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, local codes, and environmental standards.
- Support in energy conservation programs (such as GSTC, Green Engage) and sustainability initiatives
- Supervise and develop the engineering team, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Support in the preparation of the Engineering Department’s annual budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Monitor and control operational expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Analyze monthly P&L statements, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions to meet budget targets.
- Support in capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenses (OPEX) efficiently, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Negotiate vendor contracts and service agreements to achieve favourable pricing and terms.
- Ensure the upkeep of hotel grounds, building structures, and external facilities to preserve the property’s appearance and safety.
- Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests to minimize disruptions.
What we need from you
- At least a Diploma either in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field with three years' experience in related work.
- Proven experience in project management in similar industry, with at least two years of experience in supervisory role.
- PUB Certified Water Efficiency Manager is preferred.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency programs and sustainability initiatives.
- Oral and written fluency in English.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
