Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Melt Shop Maintenance Electrician who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. The selected teammate will ensure the success of the team by SAFELY performing Preventative and Corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems. During construction, melt shop maintenance electricians will help build the mill and create our computerized maintenance management system to ensure proper design criteria and equipment reliability in the Melt Shop area of the mill.
Job Functions include but are not limited to:
· Propose and implement innovative solutions to electrical challenges within the hot strip mill, ensuring adherence to safety standards, maximizing reliability, optimizing quality, and maintaining cost-effectiveness.
· Perform complex electrical and electronic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on hot strip mill equipment, including motors, variable frequency drives, PLCs, and other critical systems.
· Demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics specifically related to hot strip mill operations.
· Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, AC variable frequency drives, motors & control systems within the context of the hot strip mill's unique equipment and processes.
· Train teammates on new electrical equipment, modifications to existing systems, and safety procedures in the hot strip mill environment.
· Be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, or scheduled & unscheduled overtime to maintain continuous operation of the hot strip mill.
Pay: $96,033.60 to $128,696.88 Range varies based on experience and is a full compensation package including a variable incentive during construction phase and a potential for annual profit-sharing bonus. (Applicants starting below the top of our salary range have the ability to progress to maximum pay through our comprehensive training and development program.)
