Amentum is seeking a Senior Model Based Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Dahlgren, VA.

Senior Systems Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Advising the Government by researching new concepts and technologies and developing new Fleet capabilities.

  • Help design, review, and contribute to the Navy's new system. 

  • Develop descriptive models using MagicDraw. 

  • Perform systems engineering to advise SSP on the design and development of the replacement missile as well as the supporting software and systems.

  • Collaborate with teams across A10 and A20 Divisions  

  • Performing analysis and problem-solving techniques necessary to execute professional scientific/engineering work

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or ten (10) years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise.

  • Ten (10) years professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major strategic, platform, weapon, combat, Command and Control (C2), and/or fire control systems program, with five years’ concurrent experience as a team leader performing system engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements and top-level designs and/or system architectures for software intensive systems. This includes experience related to the identification, analysis and resolution of complex systems engineering issues involving platform, weapon, combat, C2, and fire control systems for Navy/Joint warfighting capabilities.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) or other SLBM organizations.

  • Experience working with managing software developments
