Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Drill Assistant to join the Geotechnical team in Kansas City, KS for one of the leading total quality assurance providers worldwide. The Drill Assistant will assist in various drilling activities to obtain boring samples. Example activities include soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classifications, in-situ testing, and monitoring well installation. A high level of communication and willingness to grow is highly preferred, as they will have the opportunity to expand their career in architectural, engineering, and construction industry!



Day to Day:

Investigates sub surface conditions
Recognizes and identifies soil and rock types and material classifications
Identifies and locates utilities and other site safety concerns
Maintains record log of drilling activities
Loads and unload augers
Assembles and disassembles augers
Assists with the location of boring locations
Retrieves and logs samples
Cleans and maintains equipment

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 100lbs
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (within reason)
Must be able to work off shifts and overtime
Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
Drug & Background Test required (WILL TEST FOR THC)
Comfortable with up to 50% travel
Border states or further (if comfortable)
All travel and lodging is paid for

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plus Qualifications:

Class A CDL
MSHA
OSHA10
Background in construction
