We have excellent summer opportunities for students who wish to gain hands-on experience in an architectural/engineering/interior design environment. Paid summer internships will be 10 - 12 weeks beginning on or before June 2, 2025 (some flexibility is available). In this role you will:
Work with the Equity team on: Researching best practices and gathering insights to inform and inspire innovative design solutions. Developing tools and resources to assist design teams with the implementation of equitable design practices across multiple project typologies. Assisting with facilitating stakeholder engagement to ensure inclusive design on projects. Providing visuals, note-taking, and storytelling to strengthen project expectations. Collaborate and foster honest conversations, both internally and externally, to strengthen individual understanding of the connections between systemic inequality, design of the built environment, and individual outcomes.
You will need to have:
Completed 3+ years of study in an Architecture, Interior Design, or Landscape Architecture program OR 5+ years of related work experience in an interdisciplinary design environment Familiarization with graphic design principles and software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva Proficiency with 3D drafting and modeling software such as Revit (preferred), Rhino, or SketchUp will be a strong advantage, but we encourage applicants to submit if they meet all other requirements and feel they will be successful based on other skills or unique life experiences. Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse background in the firm, including regional and culture-specific contexts, with a continuous focus on healthy relationship building
Salary Information:
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $22.00/hr.
Additional Information:
Workplace Requirements: Work Location: This position requires the intern to work in person at our Minneapolis office, with occasional on-site work for projects or client meetings as needed. Work Hours: Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional flexibility required to accommodate client or project needs.
