The Transport Specialist will be a staff member working as directed by transportation section, as required. The Transport specialist will provide efficient transportation distribution services to personnel at site facilities for USG, Contracted employees, and business travelers, as prescribed in the OASIS contract requirements. The Transport specialist will be required to provide timely advice to management on all issues to local transportation support. 

The Transport specialist will be required to liaise with a range of stakeholders, including USG employees, contact employees and vendors on a daily basis through the course of their daily duties 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate assigned transportation assets in a safe manner in accordance with regulatory guidelines.  Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition.

Provide a safe, dynamic and well-rounded experience for the customers every day.

Utilize all material handling equipment is a safe and consistent manner

Prepare loads for transportation within regulatory guidance

Conduct basic Pre-Inspections of vehicles ensure vehicle are road worthy. Report any and all faults to transport supervisor. Carry out basic maintenance on vehicles.

Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements

Demonstrate positive approach Amentum Ethics and goals

Maintain all appropriate licenses and endorsements and do not operate any equipment with an expired or revoked license or endorsement 

Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at site and within the workplace 

Any other reasonable duties as requested  

QUALIFICATIONS  

Essential 

Desirable 

  • Driver’s License. 

  • Experience in Logistics and Transport Operations including warehouse operations. 

Field: Relevant or related discipline 

  • Vocational and/or tertiary qualifications in Transportation or Business streams 

  • Equivalent demonstrated experience

  • Driver’s License HR with “H” Minimum 

  • Forklift Permit/License 

 

  • CPR 

  • White Card 

  • Working at Heights 

  • HSR Training 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – Minimum Essential  

Minimum Essential  

  • 6 months experience in Logistics industry 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with varied stakeholder 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  

 

  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg independently  

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT 

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly. 

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS 

All personnel assigned shall be: 

  • At least 18 years of age. 

  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English 

EHS REQUIREMENT 

All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements. While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of the EHS Handbook, each person is responsible for: 

  • Completing work tasks in a safe manner 

  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or PMO/EHS Manager 

  • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the EHS Handbook during the performance of their work 

  • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment
