The Mid-Prairie Community School District has an opening for a Behavior Intervention Specialist. The focus will be on elementary students, but have the ability to serve students K-12 in general and special education classrooms. They will collaborate with staff in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues. They will also work with families to support student needs. It is preferred applicants have experience working with children with behavioral challenges. Qualifications/Skills * Bachelors degree or higher * Experience supporting students with behavioral issues * Observation and organizational skills * Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people * Experience with developing and implementing behavior intervention plans, IEP's, classroom management systems and reinforcement systems. * Support other professionals with student crisis intervention * Train and plan with teachers and paraprofessional concerning behavioral, social or personal problems of students. * Assist parents in locating and obtaining community resources which are available to students and their families
