The Itron Forecasting team is the industry leader in financial and operational forecasting products and services for utilities and system operators. This is a dynamic and motivated team of senior professionals and industry-recognized experts providing consulting and software implementation services for a range of business and use cases.
As the senior manager of this team, you will be directly responsible for the team's day to day operations, as well as setting the team's strategy and direction, measuring and reporting on the team's work, and driving process- and organizational-improvement initiatives to generate impactful growth. Additionally, you'll be defining and managing the team's services offers, working closely with Itron's Product Line Management, R&D, and Customer & Market Excellence teams to ensure that this team's services offers are closely aligned with Itron's product strategy and direction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 15-20 professionals, with a focus on career growth and development. Ensure the team has the right structure and environment to support the significant growth expected in the next few years.
Develop and maintain a detailed view of the team's revenue pipeline and plan, including risks, opportunities, and dependencies.
Define, describe, and document services offers, including holistically and from the customer's perspective, which may include a combination of Itron products and solutions. The essential output here is a clear, detailed, and unambiguous shared understanding of the offer, its benefits and dependencies, and its component products.
Develop strategies and materials to support the marketing and sales of services offers, working closely with PLM, CME (BGMs), and Itron Marketing as appropriate. Drive ongoing sales enablement and monitor CME engagement, for the services offers. Act as an escalation point for pre-sales conversations and activities, supporting CME, PLM, and others as necessary.
Drive capacity and capability planning within the Forecasting team, ensuring that the team is able to effectively execute on both the solution/offer and the opportunities as they are realized, and identifying anticipated gaps
Work with PLM to align on product development priorities and track R&D progress, ensuring that released products fully enable and support the envisioned services offers (or vice-versa - update offers to reflect product status, features, and capabilities).
Drive offer profitability, reporting on costs, pricing, margin, etc. Identify and drive cost-reduction and margin-improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience:
10 years of experience in utility-industry forecasting, data science, SW development, or closely-related fields
Proven track record of team or program leadership in dynamic, high-growth environments
Deep familiarity with data-forecasting concepts and techniques, including contemporary approaches involving ML, AI, and other modern computing concepts
Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited university in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Proficiency with time-series data forecasting models and methods, including development and operation of algorithms or related software
Proven experience preparing and delivering compelling customer-facing presentations, including as part of larger team efforts (e.g. a pre-sales environment)
Demonstrated organizational skills, including extensive use of workflow-management and resource-allocation tools - ideally also including evaluation and implementation of these tools
Experience driving a professional/expert services delivery team, including accountability for revenue and margin, cost efficiency, and growth in new markets
Experience defining and managing professional-services offers, including as part of larger Product Management organizations
Knowledge of utility-industry practices and market trends

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. The base salary is $125,000- $225,000.
