Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
7 to 10 years of demonstrated experience in financial analysis with increasing levels of responsibilities.
Extensive, hands-on experience in using an advanced cost accounting system such as Oracle, SAP, etc.
Comfortable working with Operations business leaders to understand required system updates and seeing the system changes through with minimal disruption to the financial systems.
Experience using business intelligence (BI) tools or other relevant data aggregation tools to efficiently and effectively organize and summarize financial and operational data.
Must have ability to aggregate and harmonize information from disparate systems into easy-to-use tables of information via excel
Oracle or similar ERP experience preferred, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of accounting systems and controls
Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented professional
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position

Position Summary:

The Principal Financial Operations Analyst is a key member of the monthly close process as well as the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes. Responsibilities include supporting the manufacturing and operations apects of the periodic planning processes, development and enhancement of variance reporting and ad hoc financial analysis in support of company objectives. This role is also responsible for the preparation and distribution of periodic operations financial reports, key performance indicators (KPI) and business unit scorecards. This position will have visibility to numerous functions across the Ergotron organization and as such will require effective communication with non-Finance individuals.
Position Responsibilities:

Maintain and enhance the detailed financial models used to analyze all the various elements of cost of goods sold (COGS) within the Company. This includes various driver-based models used to understand changes in Core COGS, freight in/out, warehousing, tariffs, scrap, purchase price variances and other manufacturing variances.
Perform monthly variance analysis of actual results against plan and forecasted amounts at the Vertical Market and Business Unit (BU) for revenue, COGS and manufacturing activity. Includes recommending adjustments or accruals as appropriate as part of the month-end fiscal close process.
Meet regularly with senior Operations leadership to discuss and explain financial performance including primary expense drivers, variances and other manufacturing financial metrics. Review and challenge as appropriate key assumptions, drivers and metrics used to develop forecasts and plans. This position will provide informal leadership in various team settings as the primary operations finance contact across the organization.
Responsible for understanding and analyzing Inventory (DSI - Days Sales in Inventory) and Accounts Payable (DPO – Days Payables Outstanding) balances throughout the year based on changes to sales and related manufacturing activity. The role will actively work with senior Operations leadership to analyze and recommend actions to optimize working capital balances.
Responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the cost accounting module of our Oracle financial system. This includes overall review and coordination of periodic inventory cost-rolls with the various manufacturing sites of the Company. It also includes reviewing system reports to ensure various costing issues (for example - incorrect bill of materials) are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
Responsible for the integrity of financial information represented in various financial reporting systems used by the company. Accurately and efficiently update monthly reporting including monthly financial results, KPI reports, SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) support, various scorecard reports and other files as required.
Understand financial impact to proposed business process changes and ensure adequate testing and validation prior to system changes being updated to production environment.
Ad hoc and standard financial analysis to support company’s different business unit needs.
Other activities as requested by management.
Additional duties as requested.
Supports “Lean Business Enterprise” initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.
