Job Description

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Direct and coordinate the activities of employees
engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as inspectors,
machine setters, and fabricators. Confer with management or subordinates
to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances. Confer with other
supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between
departments. Set up and adjust machines and equipment. Inspect
materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Enforce safety and sanitation regulations, use safe work habits.
Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve
production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or
efficiency. Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair
services. Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications,
sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout,
assembly, and welding operations. Lay out, position, align, and secure
parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination
squares, calipers, and rulers. Cut, contour, and bevel metal plates and
structural shapes to dimensions as specified by blueprints, layouts,
work orders, and templates, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping
knives. Operate a press brake and related equipment Prepare all material
surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale,
slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter. Operate manual or
semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes
such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc,
shielded metal arc, resistance welding Examine workpieces for defects
and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure
conformance with specifications. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Metal fabrication and welding experience required.
