As a Loss Recovery Analyst I or II, and as a team member of the Fraud and Information Security Department, you will be responsible for working with members, co-workers, and third-party card processors to process fraud and dispute claims in compliance with applicable regulations on fraud prevention and recovery. You will be responsible for investigating and analyzing to determine appropriate actions to be taken in processing fraud, disputing claims, and recovering losses. If you enjoy providing support to members and coworkers on loss prevention and taking complex calls, then this is the job for you!
Your day may include:
Ability to handle escalated, complex and emotionally charged calls involving suspicious or fraudulent transactions, and taking decisive actions quickly to mitigate risk and loss to WSECU and/or members
Assisting members and coworkers in processing fraud and dispute claims and recovering losses
Investigating claims to determine appropriate actions needed such as submitting chargebacks, writing off the loss, or denying the claim
Working with third party card processor and performs work needed to process the claims in compliance with applicable regulations
Data analysis to identify fraud trends
Serving as a resource for credit union staff and members for all departmental-related initiatives by maintaining cross-training routines for all core department functions
Providing direction to business lines requesting assistance and helping resolve complex account problems
Exhibits a high level of integrity and maintaining confidentiality of highly sensitive and confidential information
Performs data analysis
Cybersecurity investigation and investigating across multiple systems

For Loss Prevention Analyst I:
Competitive pay for Loss Prevention Analyst I: $22.00 - 32.99 per hour, dependent on relevant qualifications plus an annual discretionary incentive plan and benefits
One (1) year financial institution experience, to include experience with fraud risk investigation and/or transaction analysis and handling escalated and emotionally charged calls
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
Knowledge of Reg E and Reg Z
Experience with back office operations and anti-money laundering programs
For Loss Prevention Analyst II:
Competitive pay for Loss Prevention Analyst II: $25.16 - $37.74 per hour, dependent on relevant qualifications plus an annual discretionary incentive plan and benefits
Three (3) years financial institution experience, to include experience with fraud or dispute investigation or anti money laundering programs, data and/or transaction analysis and handling escalated and emotionally charged calls
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
Knowledge of VISA Chargeback process and operating rules
Knowledge of Regulation E and Z
Knowledge of UCC and NACHA Rules and Regulations
Knowledge of BSA Recordkeeping and reporting requirements

Additional Information on Pay Ranges
The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increases during their tenure in the position.
The target range for qualified new hires is typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant's pay history into account.
Where we're located: 330 Union Ave, Olympia WA. Employees must reside and perform all work in the state of Washington. This is a hybrid position that blends working in-office and from home. Works onsite 1 occasion per week.
When you'd work: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, full time minimum 40 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility required to meet service needs for this non-exempt position.
