JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20808 Title: Business Process Specialists
POSITION SUMMARY The Business Process Specialist provides support for
the Human Resources System (HRS), Shared Financial System (SFS) or other
related systems and business processes at the University of Wisconsin
System Service Operations. We are currently recruiting to fill multiple
Business Process Specialist positions that are considered fixed-term
terminal with an expected job end date of 12/31/2025. These Business
Process Specialists will support the following areas: - Benefits Service
Delivery: This functional team focuses on tasks related to Benefit
Administration. Tasks include, but are not limited to, benefit
application processing, working with ETF to ensure enrollments are
correct, reviewing job information and verifying benefit eligibility,
and performing other duties in support of benefit processing - HR
Service Delivery: This functional team focuses on tasks related to the
HR areas. Tasks include, but are not limited to, HRS transactions
including troubleshooting, correction and processing, direct retro and
funding assistance, TAM (Recruiting solutions) job posting assistance,
criminal background check and sexual harassment reference check program
management and other duties in support of HR transaction processing -
Payroll Service Delivery: This functional team focuses on tasks related
to Time Administration, Leave, and Payroll. Tasks include, but are not
limited to, working with employees and supervisors to enter and approve
time, helping employees understand their leave benefits, check
corrections, and performing other entry in support of payroll processing
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES -Technology process support of the Human Resource
System (HRS) and related operations, focused on Benefits, Human
Resources and Payroll. -Support multiple processing activities including
entering exception transactions, performing auditing and validations,
and troubleshooting customer issues. -Analyze and perform complex
entries and corrections within HRS and related systems. -Research and
interpret UW Policies, regulations, statutes and develop procedures for
application within the system and related business processes. Assist
with the implementation of these changes. -Recommend and promote changes
in the system and related business processes as needed to stay current
and enhance operations. Work cross-functionally with other team members
as needed. -Participate in development of testing, training, and
reporting requirements. -Create, organize, review and update training
materials and business process documentation. -Understand processes
related to the position\'s specified area of expertise. -Manage records
associated with tasks and adhere to appropriate records retention
policies. WORK LOCATION The office is located at 660 W Washington Avenue
in Madison WI. An in-office requirement is expected two days per week.
The remaining 3 days may be worked off-site/remote. Telecommuting

QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for this
position, applicants must have: - Associates degree or minimum of 2
years professional work experience in Payroll, Benefits or Human
Resources (e.g. payroll processing, auditing, accounts payable, employee
lifecycle processing within a HRIS system, applicant tracking system,
etc.) - Strong analytical, problem solving and judgement skills -
Ability to independently perform work assignments - Strong communication
skills, written and verbal PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Well qualified
applicants will also have a substantial amount of experience in a
combination of the following: -Experience providing customer support to
end users -Microsoft Office and Excel experience -Query and SQL
experience -Experience working in a public sector or university setting
