Description:

Serve as a liaison between the IT software development/support teams and functional business areas. This position requires you to work directly with department managers and their respective employees to identify, assess, and document business requirements and procedures. Partner with stakeholders to recommend appropriate project scope based on business priorities, and advise the business on options, risks, and costs. Build an in-depth understanding of business processes and technical implementation to provide thorough recommendations. Assist in identifying improvements in software development workflow and document departmental policy and procedures. Aid in resolving or routing requests from business units, including working to determine prioritization for the development team. This position reports to the Director of Software Development.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the creation of functional requirements for technology projects. Requirements must be sufficiently understandable to allow for sign-off from business stakeholders and provide sufficient detail for use by technical staff.
Facilitates the creation of documented business requirements. The position will lead this effort as it relates to software modifications or enhancement requests. Organizes information into readable formats used by IT department and management.
Helps in the creation of achievable project scope by facilitating communication between business and technology management.
Responsible for managing changes to project requirements by administering the company’s change management processes.
Structures and leads the user acceptance test effort to ensure the products created match business specifications.
Assists in the creation and management of project plans.
Occasionally takes responsibility for the successful delivery of small-scale technology, development, or functional business projects.
Compile and maintain relevant software development processes and technical documentation.
Receive and route daily requests from business units to appropriate development staff for resolution. Assist with investigation or resolution when possible.
Qualifications:

Experience with project management and familiarity with project management software.
Familiarity with all phases of the SDLC and change management.
Ability to effectively document business requirements to existing hardware/software architecture.
Excellent at communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to analyze and understand application code at a basic level is helpful.
Basic experience with database queries for reporting purposes is helpful.
2-3 years’ experience in business/systems analysis or technical project management.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
