The Endoscopy Technician/Peri-Operative Aide will complete direct patient care duties to ensure optimal patient outcomes and an exceptional patient experience during the admission and discharge process. They will assist patients with nutrition, ambulation, clothing, and toileting before and after procedures. They will also be under the guidance and direction of the nursing team to accomplish a variety of delegated nursing assistive tasks such as equipment and supply set-up, collection of specimens, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and scopes, including the documentation of cleaning and disinfection processes. Monitors patients during local procedures.
Endoscopy Technician/Perioperative Aide Overview
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with preparing patients for procedures including vital signs and screening questions
Transport patients within the department
Obtains necessary equipment and supplies prior to the start of the procedure
Uses proper aseptic technique to open sterile supplies
Turns over rooms between patients/procedures
Restocks supplies following standard work
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required within three months of hire
1+ year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital or surgical center
Ability to perform routine duties accurately with minimal supervision, prompt and dependable
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited surgical tech, endoscopy tech or instrument tech program
Specialized training/education in gastroenterology
Endoscopy and/or Operating Room experience and knowledge of equipment and maintenance
Location: 909 Fulton St SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
