Emory Decatur Hospital (EDH), originally founded in 1961 as DeKalb General and later known as DeKalb Medical, has grown into a pivotal healthcare institution since its integration into Emory Healthcare in 2018. As an integral part of Georgia's most comprehensive academic health system, EDH remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services to the community.
Emory Hillandale Hospital (EHH), a sister hospital of EDH, located on the east side of Atlanta. EHH offers a unique, smaller hospital setting characterized by a family feel. EHH specializes in general cases, orthopedic procedures, GI, occasional vascular and podiatry surgeries. EHH operates with 3-4 rooms a day.
Role of Anesthetists at EDH and EHH: Within EDH & EHH, our dedicated team of Anesthetists plays a vital role in ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout a broad spectrum of surgical procedures. These procedures encompass various specialties, including Orthopedic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, ENT Surgery, General Abdominal Surgery, Obstetric and Gynecological Procedures, Vascular Surgery, Outpatient Gastrointestinal (GI) Procedures, as well as Labor and Delivery.
Anesthesia Care Team Model: At all Emory Healthcare sites our CAAs, CRNAs and MDs collaborate within the Anesthesia Care Team model ensuring the highest level of quality and safety for our patients.
