Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the management, analysis and dissemination of accurate and actionable information that facilitates data-informed decisions. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop business requirements and to improve business processes. Works directly with project stakeholders, business leaders and other team members to deliver insightful analysis and critical operational reporting. Influences the direction and success of the business unit through proactive analysis and recommendations based on their findings. Organizes, develops, and implements numerous analytical processes and tools to tackle complex reporting challenges while driving business. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops and monitors "on demand" or "ad hoc" reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Noetix, Power BI, and Oracle.
- Interacts with business leaders and other associates to understand and document business requirements and needs.
- Delivers data-driven insights, produces actionable strategic direction, and helps drive business prioritization that will support growth and maximize results.
- Provides solutions tailored to individual departments while considering organization-wide impact.
- Leads various projects in a way that supports existing deployed tools and processes.
Business Intelligence Developer I
- Supports executive leadership with day, week, and month-end reporting.
- Analyzes departmental results within the context of the entire business, including data, goals, processes, and organization.
- Suggests reporting solutions to optimize business performance, writes detailed technical documentation, and collaborates with various teams to operationalize proposed solutions.
- Communicates complex analyses and insights to stakeholders and business leaders both verbally and in writing.
- Trains others to effectively use reports and/or dashboards.
- Evaluate and document business processes and recommend/provide improvements.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE
- Candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience analyzing business needs and providing valuable, data-centric solutions and reports; and report and dashboard development using SQL Server, Analysis Services, and other disparate data sources. Experience must include working with a variety of data formats to access, import, extract, transform, and transfer or load data.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Candidate must possess advanced knowledge in Microsoft business intelligence technologies and Excel, as well as SQL or Oracle, SQL Data Tools, Cognos, Oracle Business Intelligence Application, or PowerBI skills, and proficient working knowledge of Excel.
- Candidate must possess strong analytical, technical, organizational, time management, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; the ability to present information to a broad audience of users including business leaders; ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, anticipate business needs, multitask, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will require mostly sitting, with standing and walking being occasionally required. The essential physical demands are feeling, hearing, fingering, and talking. Additionally, near acuity and any relevant accommodation to achieve it is a must. Candidate must be able to lift up to ten (10) pounds. This position has many essential mental demands, including computing, analyzing, synthesizing, communicating, copying, compiling, coordinating, negotiating, interpersonal skills/behaviors and occasionally comparing and instructing. This position has little noise exposure.
Additionally, candidate may be required to do field work up to 20% of a typical work day. This would entail visiting plants to meet with the business and its stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business processes to facilitate the implementation of effective solutions.
Pay Range: USD, Commensurate with Experience
$69,239 - $86,548
