Job Description:
Purpose of Job
This casual position is responsible for carrying out programs and treatment, or portions thereof, as planned with an Occupational Therapist.
Job Functions
Performs treatment and documents care, and collaborates with Occupational Therapist regarding discharge recommendations.
Understands and uses reimbursement and regulatory guidelines for care and environment.
Understands and uses patient and clinic operations following Rehab Specialties policy and guidelines.
Provides effective supervision of aides, students and volunteers when occupational therapy is provided.
Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Provide current and quality treatment, utilizes Ridgeview and professional resources to promote continued quality care
Exhibits working knowledge of hours of operation, customer base, department operations, visit procedures, and chart audit procedures.
Communicates with patient, health care providers, insurer and others to ensure that patient needs are addressed.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
Graduate of approved Occupational Therapy Assistant Curriculum
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to exhibit, self-control and maturity in work and behavior
Ability to promote Rehab Specialties services
Ability to change work locations with or without prior notification in order to meet customer needs
Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
Ability to work autonomously and as a team
Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
Ability to work independently and organize tasks
Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
License/Certification
COTA Certification
CPR Certification
