SUMMARY
Mortenson Properties, Inc (MPI), a wholly owned subsidiary of MA Mortenson, is looking to add a Renewables Investment Executive. This individual that will lead Mortenson Properties' (MPI) focus on all renewable energy initiatives. This role will lead our tax equity business which supports Mortenson Construction customers on Solar, Wind, Energy Storage, EV Charging and Green Hydrogen projects. It will also work closely with MPI Asset Management on incorporating renewables and other sustainable initiatives into our real estate portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead MPI's renewable tax equity business working through deal flow internally with Mortenson Renewable Operating Groups and externally with co-investment partners.
Provide Asset Management of MPI's current renewable tax equity investments and future rooftop solar assets.
Investigate formation of fund for large corporates interested in transferability of credits on renewables projects built by Mortenson.
Partner with external developers on rooftop solar strategies which could result in MPI taking on ownership of projects long-term.
Collaborate with MPI team on sustainability initiatives in our current portfolio of assets and new investment opportunities.
Assist in other projects and requests, as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related field
Minimum 5 years related work experience in the renewables field
Tax equity experience preferred
C&I solar experience preferred
Familiarity with renewables finance concepts as well as renewable development concepts
Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to model in Excel
Knowledge of tax equity terminology and legal structures
A self-driven work ethic willing to run as a team of one initially and develop a team to support them over time
The ability to quickly problem solve and think outside of the box
This position is preferred to be in Minneapolis
There will be moderate travel needed in this role
