JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Physician Assistant Program Director
is responsible for the overall organization and
administration/management of all aspects of the Master of Physician
Assistant Studies program, including curriculum, evaluation, and
accreditation of the program. The Program Director must provide
effective leadership and management to meet needs of the program, school
and campus requirements, and national accreditation standards. The
Program Director oversees and collaborates with all faculty members,
medical director, staff, and students within the program and represents
the program within the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH), the
University and the Community. The program director must also work
effectively in collaborative partnership with other health professional
degree program and school leaders to optimize the learning and work
environment beyond the program as aligned with the mission, vision,
values, and strategic pillars of the school. The Program Director
position is a .80-1.0 FTE (12-month appointment) both non-tenure or
tenure track (rank commensurate with experience) academic faculty
position in the Physician Assistant Program (Academic Affairs, SMPH).
This position will be 1.0 FTE dedicated to academic and administrative
responsibility, with the option of up to .20 dedicated to clinic or
funded research, if interested and if program needs are met. The Program
Director must be a licensed Physician Assistant (PA); as a PA, they must
hold current, or emeritus, NCCPA certification and must not be the
medical director. This position directly reports to the Senior Associate
Dean of Academic Affairs or their designee in the School of Medicine and
Public Health. A diverse knowledge base and skill set are highly
desirable, along with continued time in clinical practice or clinically
related scholarship to maintain skills. This position supervises faculty
