-Ability to use a variety of hand and measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges, calipers.
-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
-Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control.
-Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
-Possesses strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
-Ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to this job
-Ability to understand and communicate in English to the extent necessary to perform all functions of the job.

Job Description:
SUMMARY: Tends fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

-Read blueprints to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences.
-Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal.
-Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template.
-Positions part against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
-Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
-Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
-Observes machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction.
-Measures part dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
-Verifies workpieces to work instruction to insure pieces are correct.
-Consistently and accurately follows all work instructions, including but not limited to inputting machine programs, verifying that all workpieces are accounted for, all quality checks have been performed, and all operations are signed off on.
-Loads finished workpieces onto pallets for next operation.
