Job Description
Cubist Systematic Strategies, LLC. has an opening for a Research Analyst in New York, NY. May work from home up to 1 day per week, as permitted.
Build research and quant trading software to conduct quantitative alpha research. Build and implement quantitative investment models. Build visualization tools and monitors for market/trade/position/risk. Research statistical forecasting, create and apply machine learning techniques. Develop platform to handle quant trading — model building, optimization, and trade execution. Conduct research on, and analyze large data sets, develop software engineering methods to analyze large unstructured nonnumeric data. Handle research process, methodology selection, data collection and analysis, testing, prototyping, implementation, back-testing, and performance monitoring. Design, build, and maintain research and trading infrastructure and systems, design SQL database systems for warehousing large datasets and build flexible and efficient APIs in SQL, Python, and R.
Must possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Computational Finance, Financial Engineering or a related STEM field and at least 1 year of experience as a Quantitative Analyst or in a related role at a financial services institution. Must also possess 1 year of experience with the following: developing, researching, and implementing quantitative models for systematic futures or options strategies on behalf of a financial services institution; programming in Python using Pandas; performing statistical analysis of historical data gathered from financial markets to build quantitative models; analyzing the risk and return profile of portfolios of financial instruments; conducting independent research utilizing large data sets; and systematic trading research.
