Job Description:
Need 6 full time, temporary, seasonal Beekeepers to work in Wadena, MN.
From: 04/15/2024 to 11/01/2024
Work: 55 hrs./week, Mon.,10 hrs - Fri. 9 hrs./day.
7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Possible weekend/holiday work.
As required in Minnesota, all hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at
1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

JOB DUTIES: Care and maintenance of large-scale beekeeping equipment, operate trucks and forklifts that may be used in moving equipment, and lifting/carry supers of honey up to 60 lbs. Worker will be responsible for helping construct and paint boxes, feed and medicate beehives, and be responsible for honey extraction. Install queen cells. Worker must be able to stand for long periods of time in any weather condition. (Temperatures may reach above 90 degrees at times during harvest.) Worker must be able to work in a team environment and take instruction well, & other related Beekeeper activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) months recent and verifiable experience with references required as a beekeeper. Must be 18 years of age. Class D license. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Exposure to extreme temperatures; Extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, and repetitive movements. All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing post hire; at employer's cost. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid Driver's License in the State of Minnesota (Class D) within 2 weeks of reporting to work. Must not be allergic to bees. No HS Diploma/GED required.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
