  • $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

  • Certification premium - $1.25/hour
  • Night shift premium - $4.50/hour
  • Weekend premium - $4.00/hour

    UW Medical Center-Northwest - Emergency Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Shift Charge Nurse.

    WORK SCHEDULE
  • 3x12 shift schedule
  • Night shifts (7:00pm-7:30am)
  • Rotating weekend shifts required

    ABOUT OUR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
  • We are a 22-bed Level IV Trauma Center
  • We consistently hold 1:4 nurse to patient ratios
  • We provide specialized treatment for cardiac, trauma, and stroke patients
  • We have been recognized for providing one of the fastest times to treatment for cardiac patients in the Seattle region

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates patient flow during shifts
  • Communicates changes in patient acuity
  • Assigns resources to match patient needs
  • Directs and coordinates activities of unit staff
  • Acts as a clinical resource and consultant during difficult situations with patients and visitors
  • Follows infection control plans, medication safety plans, safe lifting techniques, and PPE protocols
  • Minimizes patients’ safety risks by following defined protocols (falls, pressure ulcers, restraints, etc.)
  • Participates in emergency management (rapid response team, code 199, critical values, etc.)
  • Provides constructive feedback to staff and supports team-based care
  • Supports patient satisfaction and customer service initiatives

    REQUIREMENTS
  • 1 year of recent RN work experience in an Emergency Department
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
