Position Summary
The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications from broadly trained vertebrate physiologists for a one-year visiting position to begin Fall 2025. Appointment at the rank of assistant professor is likely, but qualified candidates may be considered for a higher rank. Teaching responsibilities will include anatomy and physiology courses for biology and pre-health students and possibly teaching introductory or general education courses.

The duties in this role include:
  • Teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory biology courses at all levels, utilizing active, engaging pedagogies and research-rich laboratory projects.
  • Teach courses in specialty area of physiology; participate and direct anatomy and physiology courses for biology and pre-health students.

Basic qualifications are required at the time of application:
PhD in physiology or a related field. Applicants should have potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.

Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with diverse student populations and communities is highly desirable.

The salary range for this position: $55,000 – $60,000
