About the Job



Starting Pay Rate: $15.25/hr
Customer Relations Representatives provide essential information, aid in navigation of online resources, and answer questions for current and former students, parents/families, alumni, faculty, staff, collegiate units, and the university community in the areas of registration, enrollment, financial aid, student records, billing, and payment. This position requires a strong working knowledge of all service areas of One Stop, as well as the ability to work directly with One Stop Counselors on more in-depth inquiries. Customer Relations Representatives complete a paid, comprehensive training program. This position includes the opportunity to work during school term breaks and summer months in a remote, hybrid, or in-person capacity.
Effectively answer general questions asked by: current and previous students, parents, faculty, staff,
collegiate units, other third parties, and the public.
Assist customers with general information regarding One Stop functions including: billing, registration,
student records, MyU portal, some financial aid, and other University operations.
Communicate and collaborate with full time One Stop staff regarding customer inquiries.
Provide excellent start-to-finish customer service.
Work on various tasks as assigned.

Qualifications



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be an enrolled student with good academic standing at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus. Active credits of enrollment is not a requirement over the summer term.
Must have a minimum of 10 hours of availability per week during the academic year.
Must be available mid May for training and onboarding.
Must be able to professionally answer University-related questions in a customer-oriented environment.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
Must be inclusive to cultural diversity and have the ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience working with the public in a customer service setting.
Current first year students are encouraged to apply.
Ability to meet expectations in an independent and dynamic environment.

One Stop Student Services serves as the public face for University of Minnesota students and their families providing service and information through multiple venues and methods. The Customer Relations Representative position is focused on delivering high-quality service via telephone and email in a hybrid work capacity.
