Job Description

 
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Building Custodian shall perform all tasks related to the day-to-day duties in maintenance, repairs, and preservation of all buildings, grounds, and company offices. GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for daily building equipment repairs, carpentry, painting, wallpapering, installing windows and doors, building modules and partitions, and all other building repairs and maintenance. Responsible for clearing, preparing, and cleaning up work area. Responsible for performing proper usage of tools and equipment in a safe manner. Responsible for utilizing heavy machinery and motorized equipment such as Bob Cat, forklifts, ladders, garbage trucks, etc. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Required a minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Must have and maintain an excellent NYS Drivers License. Must have a minimum of two years experience with custodial, building maintenance or general repair. Must have experience with sludge, snow, and non-hazardous waste removal. Must have experience with the proper operation of a variety of hand power tools. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain manual dexterity when grasping, pushing, pulling, walking, climbing, lifting, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing self or equipment without accommodations. Must be able to perform job duties safely near moving mechanical parts. Ability to work both inside, outdoor, in all weather and surrounding conditions. Ability to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, holidays and overtime hours.
