Hospitalists (multiple positions available), New England Inpatient Specialists, LLC, Lowell, MA:  Responsible for examining, diagnosing and treating patients in an inpatient setting. Under the supervision of the medical director the Hospitalist will: provide coverage to an acute care hospital; examine, diagnose and treat patients, prescribe medication, and utilize medical equipment as needed; consult on changes in status and ongoing management of previously admitted and new patients; evaluate and write up admission for patients to the non-teaching and nurse practitioner services. Responsible for preparing progress notes and providing emergency coverage as needed. Manage and coordinate patient care throughout treatment. Diagnose, treat, and provide continuous care to hospital inpatients. Prescribe medications or treatment regimens to hospital inpatients. Admit patients for hospital stays. Conduct discharge planning and discharge patients. Write patient discharge summaries and send them to primary care physicians. Refer patients to medical specialists, or other professionals as appropriate. Coordinate patient care activities of nursing or support staff. Minimum requirements: MD or Foreign Equivalent.
