Job Summary
It's an exciting time to be part of the IFF team at our South Brunswick, NJ Plant. As the Production Supervisor, in addition to being tasked with the planning and execution of the production schedule, you will also coach/lead a team of 15 team members across multiple shifts. As an integral part of the Production team, you will ensure all responsible areas adhere to budget while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time-performance goals are met. You will also drive continuous improvement programs to ensure the business remains agile and competitive for our customers. You will report to the Production Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Contribute to the growth, profitability and enhancement of the business by supervising the shop floor activities of the Vanilla, Distillation and Extraction, Terpeneless and Emulsions departments, ensuring all safety, quality, on-time-performance, and cost targets are met.
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and a high level of safety awareness among associates.
Promote and maintain staff engagement and commitment to food safety and inventory compliance.
Supply process engineering support regarding internal and external nonconformance in addition to out of trend product results.
Ensure proper initial and ongoing training is performed and documented to standard. Promote cross training to enhance operational flexibility and avoid capacity delays. Actively look for continuous improvement opportunities in training methods.
Continuous optimization of the process equipment and layout to produce quality product efficiently. Lead continuous improvement activities across technologies while providing technical and process engineering support.
Optimize sequencing, communication, setup, and job execution to produce a quality product, maintaining high service levels.
Investigate and resolve issues with quality & customer complaints with an outside the box approach.
Maintain excellent communication with IFF's Customer Service and Planning teams.
Utilize effective employee management skills, dealing with difficult employee situations and providing constructive feedback. Coach, counsel and develop subordinates to grow and fulfill potential within organization.
Perform administrative functions in support of IFF policies.
Job Requirements
Required Skills:
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Strong ability to mentor, coach and develop.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Familiarization with the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
Strong understanding of Terpeneless, Emulsions, Distillation and Extraction and Vanilla batch processing sequence in order to properly support this function.
Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related science field is preferred
3+ years Distillation and Extraction experience
3+ years of Demonstrated Leadership (5+ employees) experience over a Manufacturing Department or Facility.
Process Engineering experience or exposure.
Project management experience.
Six Sigma Training.
Working SAP knowledge.
