JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The individual will conduct food
challenge studies with bacterial foodborne pathogens. The principal
duties will include: -Use mixers, stuffers, smokehouses, ovens, etc. to
make meat products in a BSL2 meat processing space that will be used in
various studies. -Assay foods for the presence of specific groups of
microorganisms including pathogens such as Clostridium perfringens,
Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, shiga-toxin
producing E. coli, and Bacillus cereus -Analyze data and prepare
progress reports -Perform chemical and physical food composition
analysis using standard procedures -Maintain and organize stock
cultures, laboratory, equipment, and supplies in good order -Ordering
and record keeping -Direct student hourly workers -Coordinate duties
with other laboratory staff and graduate students to ensure a high
functioning research laboratory. The College of Agricultural and Life

Responsibilities: Develops, designs, and conducts one or more research
projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized
research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under
