Job Summary:  Requirements:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* 1 year general clerical experience.
* Valid driver's license to drive employer vehicle or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.
* Type 30 words per minute.
* 1 year general clerical experience with advanced knowledge of English grammar, spelling and the use of office equipment.
* Pass typing, written, oral, dispatch simulator, hearing, medical (including drug screening and psychological examination) tests and an extensive background investigation.
* Pass DPSST standards for hearing.
* Have or obtain within 1 year of employment Basic Telecommunicator Certificate from DPSST or within the timeline established by Oregon Administrative Rule.
* Obtain within 6 months of hire: LEDS certification, CPR/first Aid Care, and Emergency Medical Dispatch training.
* Will be required to work all shifts and days of the week.

Duties:
* Receive incoming 911 calls for the protection of life and property.
* Provide emergency medical information, contact and dispatch emergency staff and vehicles.
* Other assigned communications and public safety duties to emergency and non-emergency situations.

Wage and benefits:
* $3,529 - 5,122 per month, plus additional pay for education degrees.
