Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon (South-side of Glasgow)  

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Your role and responsibilities  

Your time will be split between Newton Mearns, Hairmyres and our 12 vet Roundhouse Hospital.  

Crookfur is our practice situated in the centre of Newton Mearns. The practice has been open for over 35 years and is a real part of the community with a long-standing client base. This is a consulting practice where you will be supported by our PCA’s and Client Care Assistants.     

You will work in conjunction with Hairmyres which is fully equipped with two consult rooms, x-ray, dental including dental x-ray, ultrasound, theatre and lab equipment allowing in house bloods, urinalysis and cytology. You will be supported by two RVNs, PCA’s and Client Care Assistants.   

The role also offers regular rota'd days working at the Roundhouse Hospital allowing you to follow more advanced cases and have direct access to the services and facilities within the hospital. You will have exposure to laparoscopic procedures, BOAS, orthopaedic surgeries and advanced imaging including mobile CT. There will be support from certificate holders in surgery: soft tissue and orthopedic, cardiology, medicine and ECC.

Our large Vet team includes certificate holders in Surgery, ECC, Cardiology and Medicine. You will also be supported by experienced RVN’s including certificate holders, Patient Care Assistants and Client Care Advisors.
