    Harborview Medical Center – Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST.

    WORK SCHEDULE
    - 90% FTE; 36 HOURS PER WEEK; 3 X 12 HOUR SHIFTS
    - VARIABLE/ALTERNATE DAY SHIFTS

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
    Under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor, Lead Technologist, Radiologist, or other Physician, this individual will perform skilled radiographic procedures that assist in the diagnosis or treatment of patients. Additionally, the person in this role will provide the appropriate education to patients and their families prior to and post Radiology procedure and exercises responsible judgment in recognizing and reporting significant situations relating to patient care.

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    Advanced diagnostic imaging, specialized clinical expertise. Radiology Services at Harborview Medical Center offers a full complement of radiology tests and imaging procedures, including nuclear medicine and interventional radiology (angiography). 

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    - Performs diagnostic radiographic exams as assigned by Lead or Supervisor.  Transferring and positioning patients as well as providing immobilization.  Provide devices as required and select proper technical factors and operate radiographic equipment.
    - Under general supervision performs complex radiographic procedures such as, but not limited to the following:  myelograms, discograms, complex orthopedic procedures in the OR, extensive radiography, and complex polytraumatized patients from the ED and ICU.
    - Is able to operate the following equipment/systems:  Computed and Digital Radiography equipment, PACS, the Hospital Information System, and the Radiology Information System.  Able to print and retrieve images. Can implement downtime procedures as needed.
    - Assists in the orientation of new staff, technologists, researchers, and students to the Radiology department.
    - Help maintain a clean and well-stocked working environment.
    - May be assigned Lead responsibilities in their absence or when requested.
    - Maintains adequate computer and/or written records using the Radiology Information System.
    - May be required to work on-call.
    - Assures appropriate utilization of Radiation Protection prescribed by safety standards is utilized.

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    - Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school and eligible for registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry completed before completion of probationary period
    OR equivalent education/experience.
    - Registered as an X-Ray Technician by the State of Washington
    - Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist, before completion of probationary period
