Sun Country Airlines is seeking a Safety Analyst to assist various members within the Safety department by processing reports, gathering information, developing reports, following up on corrective actions, investigating events and participating in special projects as assigned.

Safety Analyst Overview:
This role is responsible for assisting various members within the Safety department by processing reports, gathering information, developing reports, following up on corrective actions, investigating events and participating in special projects as assigned. The Safety Analyst will assist management in the development and implementation of SMS data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize processes and systems used to determine compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, as well as accepted industry best practices.
Essential roles and responsibilities of a Safety Analyst:

Acts as subject matter expert for Safety Programs
Collaborates with Safety Department Managers regarding safety events
Review, process and analyze and assess all reports received through the safety reporting system (Operational/Irregularity, ASAP, Fatigue)
Analyze technical data from hazards, events, and occurrences, and identify, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Acts as safety auditor for the Internal Evaluation Program, Safety Investigations, and elevated risk areas of operations
Track, analyze, and interpret data outputs from the Company's safety programs
Assist in the administration of the corporate databases for the purpose of improved airline safety
Assist the Safety Team in any necessary investigations
Provide technical expertise to Management regarding data models, database design development, and data mining
Prepare applicable reports and communicate safety related information to managers and line personnel in support of the Safety Management System (SMS)
Assist in the development, implementation, and management of the Company's Safety Management System (SMS)
Will act as a member of the Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) Monitoring Team, oversee aircraft data collection (in conjunction with Technical Operations), perform FOQA data analysis and trend identification
Maintains FOQA Database and ensures company compliance with FOQA manual
Assist in the continuous improvement of the hazard identification and safety risk assessment schemes of the Company
Prepare research studies concerning aviation safety trends
Any other duties assigned by management

The qualifications we are looking for in a Safety Analyst include:
Knowledge of Aviation Safety programs (ASAP, FOQA, LOSA, FRMP, IEP, VDRP)
Operational familiarity with Flight Operations, Dispatch, Inflight and Maintenance
Knowledge of aircraft systems, minimum equipment lists, aircraft dispatch procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations
Knowledge of Safety Management System requirements, risk management, safety assurance, safety reporting, and safety promotion
Basic understanding of Crew Resource Management principles and aviation human factors
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products
Excellent writing skills, including manual writing, report writing, and correspondence with government agencies.
Excellent verbal, presentation, and instructional skills
Strong technical and data analysis skills; Ability to perform statistical analysis and audits.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in related field
Previous experience in airline operations
FAA aircraft dispatcher, pilot, and/or A&P certificate
