In this role, you will begin to grow your knowledge in electrical engineering. This role is of expanding responsibility for the assigned project designer, coordination, and associated construction administration. Experience working with Revit and AutoCAD are highly preferred. You must have a degree in Electrical Engineering to be considered.
Job Responsibilities:
Application of Knowledge of Building Systems
Integrate power, lighting, and emergency systems into a facility, using knowledge of the available options for each system
Assists the Lead or Sr. Electrical Engineer when working with the building/facility owner to ensure that the appropriate systems/products are utilized in their facility
Works with the Lead or Sr. Electrical Engineer to create the design of power distribution, medium voltage, and below.
Specify components based on all applicable Code requirements, as defined by the scope of the project: Including NFPA 70, 72, 101, and Building Codes
Incorporates emergency systems, and legally required and optional standby systems into project design.
Coordinates the connections of all power utilization component connections
Develops grounding and lightning protection design
Utilizes knowledge of lighting design, system types, and understanding of the following concepts:
Lighting rules such as spacing to mounting height ratio, point to point calculations, and the impact of horizontal and vertical footcandles
Life safety requirements (egress and exit marking)
Fire alarm design
Smoke detection design
Other system interconnections
Device layout
Telecommunications design
A growing knowledge of the EIA/TIA standards
Design
Assists in the creation of complete and accurate construction documents
Uses design software proficiently and can incorporate designs into project documents/models
Circuits all electrical loads
Performs lighting calculations and designs lighting layouts
Designs receptacle layouts
Designs fire alarm device layouts
Designs telecommunications device layouts
Designs power distribution systems
Performs load calculations, reflecting code compliance of the following:
Lighting calculations
Power load calculations
Short circuit and voltage drop calculations
Coordination studies
Construction Support
Performs field inspections and reports with Group Lead or Sr. Electrical Engineer
Project Management
Monitors, the work performed by the assigned staff
Planning, Scheduling, and Profitability
Assists in compiling a complete design package issue
Works with project lead engineer to ensure that project schedule will be met and complete documents provided for each submission
Develops project within provided design budget and advises additional design fees when the scope is expanded
Professional Development
Proactively seeks training to expand knowledge
Leadership
Engages the entire electrical team working with all team members
Flexible and willing to quickly move between projects as needed to assist in meeting overall project schedules
Education/Experience:
Accredited electrical engineering degree
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
