DATE: May 1, 2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position reports to the
Assistant Controller and works with campus
school/college/deans/divisional/center/departmental representatives to
monitor and reconcile data for sponsored programs. Reviews financial
transactions submitted from campus research administrators. Interacts
directly with project sponsors, faculty, and staff related to financial
reporting, invoicing, and auditing on behalf of the university to ensure
compliance. The position is responsible for the maintenance of cash
management systems for grants and accounting for federal financial aid
programs. The Post Award Accountant monitors financial matters for
extramural funds and offers guidance to faculty, staff and deans at both
pre-award and post-award stages. The position assists the Controller\'s
Office in general accounting and financial reporting. This position
includes the following responsibilities: -Works within the enterprise
resource planning system to establish awards, review expenditures, issue
billing, and process modifications. -Reviews financial transactions such
as managing fiscal closeout of awards and projects. -Communicates and
ensures financial requirements per federal, state, university, and
sponsor regulations are followed on behalf of the institution. -Ensures
the execution and completion of cost sharing and effort reporting
obligations. -Reviews and executes no cost extensions and other
post-award modifications. Advises campus and researchers of correct
processes and procedures for award management. -Reviews financial
expenditures for accuracy on sponsored grants and contracts in relation
to the approved budget. SPECIAL NOTES: Position is a full-time Academic
Staff appointment. The work hours for this position will be 7:45 a.m. to
4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position may have the option to
work on-campus or a hybrid schedule subject to approved telecommuting

AND QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Bachelor\'s Degree in
Accounting/Finance or related field -Knowledge of Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles (GAAP) -Computer proficiency with the ability to
use spreadsheet, word processing, and accounting software packages (i.e.
Microsoft 365) -Ability to understand fairly complex oral and written
instructions with analysis, problem solving, and decision-making ability
-Ability to prioritize tasks to meet complex agency and University
reporting requirements and timelines -Flexibility and willingness to
initiate and to learn new systems, processes, and technological
applications and implement improvements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Understanding of United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB)
Uniform Guidance requirements -Experience in extramural grant reporting
and compliance -Knowledge of University of Wisconsin System and
University of Wisconsin-Green Bay policies related to grants accounting
