DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for specialized high-level activities that pertain to centralized/remote management of ~25,000 end points in multiple Active Directory domains automating network management of user data, security, and distributed resources
Providing high-level customer support to End Device Support Specialists (EDSS) and other end users to ensure a highly available, highly secure, highly reliable, easy to use, distributed production computing environment comprised of multiple Active Directory domains
Providing high-level support for an environment comprised of a network of distributed hosts, enterprise level servers, departmental servers, and client end user devices
Promoting the implementation of ITS strategy, focusing on standard technologies, and providing the user community (including remote affiliates) with well-supported services and tools consistent with the standards and guidelines within UW Medicine
Providing high-level application access and security activities
Resolving high-level application performance issues
Providing primary support in process improvement and project coordination
Providing advice and consulations to partners, Systems Managers, Senior Computing Specialists, and operations personnel of varying levels of expertise
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience
4+ years technology experience should include:
4+ years of progressively responsible experience with systems design, analysis, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of workstations, system software, and drivers in support of end user computing devices
3+ years’ experience with systems administration, troubleshooting, maintenance-related programming, and production support
Demonstrated experience with SCCM Server administration
Demonstrated experience with virtual end devices and applications (preferably VMware and App-V)
Understanding of Active Directory architecture
Scripting experience (VBScript and/or ADSI to manage Active Directory)
Demonstrated project management skills
Experience in supporting the Microsoft suite of application software
Knowledge of local and wide area networks technologies
Experience developing and implementing distributed network file sharing and printing services
Demonstrated experience working with hardware and software vendors
Demonstrated experience supporting systems utilizing SQL, Exchange, Windows Terminal Server
Experience with large scale, complex systems
Demonstrated experience working with teams in the development and support of applications
Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work with personnel of various levels of technical background
