Your Role and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will possess a profound grasp of market trends, the principles of educational pedagogy tailored to adult learners, and the current academic credentialing ecosystem. This knowledge will enable them to craft and refine content that equips learners with market-recognized skills and qualifications.
The responsibilities of this position extend into leveraging deep-seated skills and comprehensive experience in Learning & Development (L&D), including but not limited to, theories of adult learning, strategies for workforce development, design of digital learning ecosystems, execution of global learning programs, data-driven content enhancement, as well as collaboration and knowledge management. Through these competencies, the candidate will play a crucial role in fostering exceptional learning academic experiences on the platform, thereby contributing significantly to the achievement of global learner outcomes.
Key Job Responsibilities include:
Stakeholder Management:
- Develop strong relationships with IBM Business Units, CSR managers and SkillsBuild geo-implementation teams to support IBM’s Skill’s pledge by delivering geo-relevant content on IBM SkillsBuild;
- Establish relationships with cross-functional internal content development organizations to deliver on the SkillsBuild content strategy which also showcases IBM’s technology stackBuild relationships with CSR, geo and partner; communication teams to support effective marketing of the content and overall storytelling of the program impact.
- Strategically develop and manage curricula in support of IBM’s strategic imperatives, informed by academic frameworks and aligned with labor market demands, preparing students for the workforce of tomorrow.
- Oversee the selection and management of external vendors and content providers to ensure high-quality, relevant, and up-to-date educational materials are developed. This includes facilitating design sessions, ensuring deliverables meet specified standards, and maintaining productive relationships.
- Embed career readiness and skills-first methodologies into curriculum design to align with the competencies and credentials demanded by employers.
- Generate T3 materials and implementation playbooks for faculty, facilitating effective curriculum delivery that meets industry and workforce requirements.
- Ensure learning offerings not only comply with academic standards but also equip students with essential career skills.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with industry and academic entities to keep educational offerings aligned with current and future labor market trends, this includes but not limited to advisory councils, faculty workgroups, employer roundtables.
- Employ feedback mechanisms from all stakeholders to continually refine educational content, aligning it with workforce development objectives.
Champion DEI in educational practices, making sure all students have equitable access to workforce opportunities.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Education, Educational Technology, Business Administration, or similar, with an emphasis on workforce development and external vendor management.
- Minimum of 5 years in academic content development, including significant experience in managing external vendors and partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability in selecting, negotiating with, and managing external content providers to meet educational goals.
- Capability to develop and execute global strategies that align educational content with both academic and workforce readiness goals.
- Excellent skills in working with faculty, industry partners, and external vendors to foster collaboration and achieve curriculum objectives.
- A commitment to adopting innovative educational technologies and methodologies, adapting content to meet evolving labor market trends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effectively managing relationships with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with educational and workforce development goals.
