Position Description Summary
APT Research is looking for a highly qualified PTOC Senior System Safety Engineer for our commercial spaceflight operations. This position is 100% remote. Applicants should have extensive knowledge of S&MA disciplines with a focus on System Safety/Software Safety and Reliability Engineering. Knowledge of the S&MA processes and interactions is of upmost importance. Technical experience in the execution of hazard analysis, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA) is required. Knowledge about system safety processes, analyses and S&MA artifacts required to support several different tasks/projects.

The tasks include:
- Support design reviews and requirements generation
- Conduct/Review system/subsystem hazard analyses
- Generate hazard reports/safety assessments including supporting documentation
- Conduct/Review system/subsystem FMECAs
- Conduct/Review FTAs
- Integrate and coordinate with internal S&MA disciplines and engineering/management
- Support short term projects
- Support new projects, startup
Required Experience/Education:
- BS in a Related Field (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, etc.) from an ABET-accredited institution.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 13 years with a Master's Degree in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, aeronautics, safety or a closely related technical discipline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate well with different levels of management, including presentation skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver high quality products on schedule.
- Ability to resolve complex problems and develop innovation solutions.
Security Clearance Requirement:
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
