Qualifications: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Civil or Aerospace Engineering degree with aviation experience or minimum of 5 years working in mechanical design engineering capacity. Strong computer-aided design (CAD) and software skills (Autodesk Inventor and CATIA). Familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, experience with Pentagon 2000SQL is a plus. Mechanical component/assembly design skills realizing cost, safety, consistency, and manufacturability constraints. Assembly/hands-on experience building prototypes. Ability to work with parts and assemblies for prototyping, testing, evaluation, modification is a benefit. Must be proficient with Adobe Acrobat & MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access). Good written communication and documentation skills. Working knowledge of aircraft materials, standard parts and procedures required. Machine shop experience is a plus. Familiar with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100:2016 (Rev D). Responsibilities: Primary function is to provide engineering expertise for a small size manufacturing company including mechanical design, analyses of product function, dimensions, environmental conditions, stresses, etc. Management of ECOs, BOMs, CAD packages, and mechanical drawings. Required to make necessary revisions to engineering drawings in a rapid and efficient manner following all standards and practices in place. Update and download customer drawings and specifications post and supersede as needed. Shop support templates, enlarged drawings, fix discrepancies Regularly monitors supplier portals for most latest engineering documents Will assist in working on projects from initial briefing through the design and development stages. Responsible to generate test plans and reports and perform product verification testing. Expected to provide technical support to manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and sales departments and outside vendors/agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, testing, troubleshooting and certification of various products. This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [green card holder], or have refugee or asylee status.
