The CTS STARS Program is a community-based alternative for developmentally delayed youth who are also experiencing mental health disorders.

The Allied Therapist serves as a member of a Community Treatment Solutions (CTS) clinical team under the direct supervision of the Clinician or Program Director.  Conducts a leisure/recreation assessment within the first week of admission. Consults on the treatment plan and crisis plan. Conducts allied therapies based on the leisure/recreation assessment (can consist of music, art, movement, recreation, occupational, vocational, combination thereof). Conducts groups and individual therapy as needed.  Implements and documents interventions identified in the treatment plan. Completes creative arts therapy assessment for each youth. Provides youth with therapeutic services such as recreation, art, music, drama, and/or any other creative art activity. Models professional behavior, demonstrates rapport-building and maintains appropriate boundaries with clients. Responds to client crisis with prescribed procedures for de-escalation, crisis management and behavior management.  Demonstrates a trauma-informed response to clients based on Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) guidelines. Observes client behaviors to identify developing issues and obstacles to meeting treatment goals. Communicates observations both verbally and in writing using prescribed formats and terminology. Consults, coordinates and collaborates with the Clinician, Behavior Specialists, Treatment Team and other professional staff on issues of behavior management, crisis intervention, and understanding the nature of client’s problems. Participates in and accepts supervision as scheduled with clinical leaders. 

 

Hours:

Part-time with flexible hours

Education/Experience:

Master’s Degree with at least 2 years’ experience with population or Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years’ experience.
