Job Summary:
The Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice seeks a generalist lecturer who can teach a broad range of topics in the discipline. The lecturer will teach a 4-4 load of required criminology and criminal justice courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Courses may include, but will not be limited to, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology & Social Theory, and Introduction to Sociology.

The lecturer reports to the Chair/Deputy Chair of the program who will determine course assignments each semester in consultation with the lecturer. Courses will be assigned on both the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck and the Florham Campus in Florham Park.

Job Duties:

- Teach four courses per semester in the undergraduate and graduate programs in criminal justice
- Attend department meetings
- Attend Becton College faculty meetings
- Special projects as assigned.



Required Qualifications:
- PhD in criminology or criminal justice or closely related field, or an M.A. plus several years of field experience in a criminal justice profession
- Prior college level teaching experience
- The lecturer must be a generalist who can teach a broad range of topics in the discipline
- Field experience and/or research experience in criminology or criminal justice preferred.
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
