Asphalt Plant Laborer
An Asphalt Plant Laborer assist in the pouring, smoothing, and setting of asphalt roads, pathways, and parking lots along with alternate Asphalt plant duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities but are not limited to the following:
-Offloading the truck and gathering tools for the day
-Transporting rakes, lutes, shovels, and spray cans to paver
-Moving the pavement saw to the transverse joint
-Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly condition, inside and out
-Safety first approach to all activities
-Sweeping and cleaning the area infront of the paver
-Working as a flagger to direct motorists away from the work zone
-Building a launchpad for the paver at the beginning of the pull
-Maintaining cleanlines and packing equipment away at the end of each day
Education/Experience
-Ability to perform strenous work
-Must have some basic mathmatical skills
-Good penmanship, record keeping, and basic computer skills
-Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
-Ability to communicate effectively over the radio
-High School diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum Skills and Requirements
-Knowledge of road and traffic regulations
-Obtaining a compliant Flagger Certification
-Excellent communication and observation skills
-Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed
-Ability to stand for long periods of time
-Ability to work for long hours in all weather conditions
-Ability to be flexible with last minutes Schedule/Location/Shift changes as workload dictates
