Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
Summary of position:
We are seeking a Research Scientist (RSIII) with interests in hematopoietic cell therapies, lentiviral gene therapy, gene editing and translational immunology. You will join a robust research team expanding upon our novel lentiviral platforms (see for example: PMID: 33718514, 28344987) and/or HSC stem or T cell gene editing approaches for treating immune disorders (PMID: 32493794; 26424571; 31722988; 31279229; PMID: 36197963), maximizing your potential to achieve high impact publications and develop therapeutic products. The projects are collaborative and supported by biotech, NIH, and institutional funding. The laboratory is led by Dr. David Rawlings, Director of the Center for Immunity, and Immunotherapies at the Seattle Children's Research Institute.
Job Responsibilities:
Lab Management (~30%) - Responsible for helping oversee the day-to-day operational needs of the laboratory including:
The organization of laboratory materials, spaces, personnel, and equipment to ensure a clean and efficient environment for conducting cutting edge research.
Assist with laboratory operations including helping to order and receive supplies, work with vendors for equipment repairs, and communicate with team members regarding operational issues.
Help train laboratory personnel and assist with maintaining IACUC and IBC protocols, including helping to write protocols or amendments.
Research (~70%) - responsible for executing and interpreting experiments to generate and test novel immune therapies.
Develop and refine in vitro assays and/or in vivo models to evaluate cellular products.
Present data at internal and external meetings and contribute data to manuscripts and patents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Hands-on experience in molecular biology, cell culture, assay development, and/or flow cytometry analysis. Immunology and animal model expertise is highly desired.
Comfortable in fast paced environment and able to work collaboratively.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people.

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively prioritize work across projects.
Ability to work with general guidance/limited supervision.
Requirements:
Required Education/Experience:
PhD Degree level in applicable science field/related field OR.
Master's Degree in applicable science field/ related field plus minimum three (3) years of related experience OR.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in applicable science field / related field plus minimum five (5) years of related experience with a robust publication record.
Related work experience varies by lab / position, as it relates to the research projects and research field assigned to this position.
Min to Max Hourly Salary:
$36.75 - $55.12 /hr
Min to Max Annual Salary:
$76,440.00 - $114,649.60 /yr
Salary Information:
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children's offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
