Chief Objective of Position
The School of Computing and Information Sciences seeks qualified applicants with expertise teaching introductory Computer Science courses in computer science or cybersecurity. Faculty will be assigned on an as needed basis for courses they agree to teach each semester.

Required Qualifications
All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience teaching Computer Science and/or Information Systems courses.
· Experience teaching and/or designing materials to help spark students’ interest in computing.
· Experience teaching different types of learners at different levels with a variety of teaching methods
Education
Adjunct faculty must hold an advanced degree or equivalent credentials based on experience consistent with accreditation criteria of the discipline and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field in which they are teaching with 18 graduate hours of course work related to the specified discipline. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, recommendation for appointment may be based on the substitution of significant experience for the degree. A memo from the Dean placed in the instructor’s personnel file is required to justify an exception to the accreditation standards of SACS and must include certification of the knowledge and skills.
