SMX’s Digital Solutions Group is seeking an Account Executive for Not For Profit (NPO) and EDU (Education) to expand SMX’s existing footprint in these verticals.  The successful candidate will identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within these vertical markets throughout the U.S. Prefer candidates who have a network of relationships in the region and can demonstrate an understanding of states organizational structure, mission priorities, and procurement approaches.  You will leverage this knowledge to develop customer and partner engagement plans and provide leadership with recommendations in the marketplace leading to the development and execution of SMX go-to-market account plans.  The breadth and depth of our business portfolio and the scale of SMX ensure that you can take on new challenges and new roles as our business and mission-impact expands. This role is remote position with up to 25% travel with a nationwide account footprint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the new business capture lifecycle - from opportunity identification, qualification, win strategy development, proposal development and the post submission phases of the business capture lifecycle.
  • Assist to develop and implement campaign plans and strategies, maintain a firm comprehension of the customer's requirements, understand the strengths/weaknesses of our competitors, and develop/implement winning strategies that highlight strengths and mitigate weaknesses.
  • Perform business development services including networking and research to increase business and maintain a current knowledge base of opportunities.
  • Develop a comprehensive go-to-market and sales strategy for NPO and EDU
  • Leverage existing partner relationships and build new ones in order to expand SMX’s work within these markets
  • Meet with current and potential clients and legislators to ascertain their requirements and apprise them of company capabilities and solutions.
  • Support the development of white papers, proposals, solutions, plans of action, business plans, and marketing materials.
  • Assist growth collaboratively with the Commercial team leaders and pre-sales support to drive new deals
  • Secure renewals for existing work and expand our revenues at existing customers; this role is tasked with processing all renewals and driving the back-office functions required to get deals to closure, to include interacting with contracts, sub-contracts/procurement, and other departments as needed
  • Participate in strategy, technical, and pricing reviews
  • Actively review proposals and provide recommendations for improvement that increases probability of win

Preferred Experience:

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (a plus)
