Job Description

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, MIT REGIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACCELERATION PROGRAM (REAP), Sloan School of Management, to collaborate with MIT staff, faculty, clients, and vendors in the operation, delivery, and execution of MIT REAP, a global initiative across over 80 regions.  Will onboard and manage three to four overlapping cohorts of participants across a 24-month flagship Global Program and an 18-month customized Focus Program; set up and maintain a learning management platform for each cohort; track and review participant deliverables, including written assignments, presentations, and activity updates; strategize and work cross-functionally with the communications team, including Sloan Media Relations and other PR agencies, to develop and execute on a timeline of strategic activities related to events/programs; contribute expertise to program and event management on topics such as travel logistics, run of show, and speaker management; evaluate and pilot new concepts in event operations, content, and event management to enable more efficient use of resources; and deliver a portfolio of programs and events including workshops, conferences, and ancillary events.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor's degree; at least two years’ academic administration experience, including experience in B2B event planning within a higher education or corporate environment; proven track record of successful conference/event management; and strong organizational, interpersonal, time management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.  Must be able to approach duties with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, pressured work environment with last-minute changes and deadlines; work effectively with all levels of the organization; and work independently and as a member of a team.  PREFERRED:  innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem experience, international event experience, familiarity with MIT, and social media and design skills.  Job #23915-7

Salary range:  $63,860 - 85,388 - 106,915, based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity.  Generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check.
